MasterCard has announced MasterPass, a new digital wallet that allows the user to purchase products online or offline using bank cards and credit cards on their mobile phone. What’s interesting about the announcement is that it rolls out in Australia and Canada first… that’s right, we get something before the Yanks! To put it simply, MasterPass is a digital wallet that you will have on all your devices. It will allow you to add credit cards and bank cards to the wallet. You can then use MasterPass online (so you don’t have to type in your credit card number again) keep reading
The blog battle will take place between Corey and Bart and be viewed on the Loud&Clear website LIVE on Monday. Both Corey and Bart are extremely passionate about the place of the homepage carousel on todays website. Corey, one of our analysts thinks it’s done it dash; Bart, one of our designers thinks it’s a great way to display multiple messages on a home page. Tune in on Monday for this Battle royale.
21st of December, our last working day of the year, and (yawn) if the Mayans were right, the last day of our short existence. Even though it’s a fake, this video makes me think that it’s going to be the animals that get us. And let’s face it, they’ve had the rough end of the stick for long enough. But I digress. I’ve never enjoyed a Christmas party as much in my life as I did the Loud&Clear Christmas party this year; Not even the ones when I was 18 and my only responsibilities were beating the tab and declaring keep reading
Work in progress Just in case you thought we couldn’t possibly squeeze another rad project into the pointy end of the year, we have managed to engage some of Australia’s most prolific names in street art to create some shit hot murals for Strike Bowling Bar. Everfresh’s Meggs & Phibs have taken a state each, with Meggs starting on Glen Waverley and Bayside – Melbourne QV and Central to follow, and Phibs is going to hit up Sydney in the New Year. Keith is away and Corey is being a punisher, so this is all I am writing. Check out keep reading
It’s been seven months since Jacqui and I teamed up with the awesome team at Loud&Clear to create Sidekicker, an innovative new labour-sourcing service which gives businesses and individuals access to a network of pre-screened and trusted employees on demand. These personal Sidekicks will staff events, provide office assistance, help out around the house, and much, much more – all from $25 per hour. We’ve always felt that temp agencies are way over-priced, and that our friends and family (as much as we might love them) are too unreliable for these sorts of jobs. Our vision was simple – give keep reading
Competitions have always been an important source for gathering customer data from asking entrants to put their business cards in a ballot at an expo to a marketer running print ads in the hope that people will fill out their details to enter. Over the years the key principle has remained the same but this digital world we live in has changed the way us marketers approach competitions. We have evolved from printed entry forms for participants to online entry forms with a more instant response and now Facebook makes this process even simpler. I for one have never been keep reading
There has been some heat in the IT industry lately, stemming from the ACCC’s move to crack down on digital companies that are taking advantage of consumers. The ACCC has recently been in legal battles with companies such as Google, Apple, Facebook and now HP, for a range of issues from misleading advertising and advice. This news around the ACCC and the heavy IT hitters got me thinking; is this just another case of ‘big business’ needing to be reigned in and given some limits, or is this symptomatic of the tech industry as a whole? With this in mind, keep reading
Does anyone know when exactly Australian businesses decided that email marketing no longer worked and switched all their efforts to social media? When did this happen? And who was it that decided? Did I miss the memo? It seems to me that this date doesn’t actually exist, but at some stage, for some reason, Australian businesses all jumped on the social media bandwagon, being lulled into a false sense of ease and security, meanwhile completely forgetting about their once-valued email marketing lists. image source Yes, social media is a powerful tool, and the media and marketing experts bang on about keep reading
Being a Digital Producer and Project Manager of a digital agency I continuously face challenges in completely different areas. One minute I might be talking to Courtney about an EDM that needs to go out in the next 30 mins and the next minute I might be having a chat with Bart about the usability of an iPhone App. From my point of view that is what makes my job so interesting. Communication is probably the most important skill that a person in my role uses every day and I wanted to share with you some thoughts. Team Communication About keep reading
